Today was a better day.

I was in bed close enough to 9:30 to say that’s when it was. I slept well and got up shortly after the alarm went off.

This morning was vision therapy. I haven’t been getting into the sun like I should so I stood in a sunny window today and basked with my eyes closed. I didn’t do sun circles because I was “in public”.

100% Raw Food

30 ozzies banana/mixed berry/spinach smoothie
4 satsumas
28 ozzies banana/romaine smoothie
2 cucumbers
2 persimmons
1 organic star fruit (nope, I still don’t care for it)
2 Bubbies pickles
Kim chee (both organic and not)
Cauliflower soup with kelp noodles (more about that later)
Plain cauliflower

This morning was warm enough I didn’t have to start the car to thaw it out. There have been a couple of mornings lately that were cold enough it made it necessary.

My friend had perked up some today. She was complaining that people were asking what she wants for Christmas and she doesn’t want to tell them. I told her she should because we all get together and buy gifts for the residents. It’s a voluntary thing and it’s fun. She said she’d like to have some perfume. I asked what kind but she didn’t have a preference. My shipment of satsumas came in so I took her four. She was thrilled and peeled and ate one on the spot.

While I was in her room, a couple of people from the Mother Ship came to train us on handling a couple of the insurance codes. I always think of the woman as my boss even though she isn’t any more. She’s taken a different position and I have another boss whom I have yet to meet. The young man who was with her has a way of making training entertaining. We laughed and joked and had a good time. They had to leave shortly before I did.

I was the afternoon mail person. Since I hadn’t made it into town earlier, I don’t know if the roadside stand people weren’t there at all or were there and already left. At any rate, I’m glad I’m pretty well stocked. On the way home, I went to the roadside market and got some romaine.

Now, about the soup. I marinated the kelp noodles in lemon juice, cut them in like 2″ lengths, blended cauliflower with some of my Cashew Cheese and nutmeg, and mixed the noodles and lemon juice in. It was pretty good but I think it would be better with broccoli instead of cauliflower. Or spinach. The noodles were great and marinating them made them just like regular noodles if regular ones are round. I’m glad I learned about them. I hope they help my thyroid get back in gear. Even if they don’t, I’ll enjoy eating them.

I got an e-mail from my sister and they are okay. She didn’t realize the disasters going on close to them in the Great Northwest or she would have gotten in touch with us sisters sooner. It wasn’t her plan to worry us. She’s been under the weather and hadn’t bothered with the answering machine until she rallied. I don’t blame her. I wouldn’t do anything I didn’t have to, either.

Let’s see if I can make it by 9 tonight. Good night and sweet dreams!
