It’s been beautiful! Sunshine all over the place!
I woke when the alarm went off (it’s too much trouble to turn it off on the weekends) and was ready to get up and go to work when I realized it was Sunday and there was no need for me to be in a hurry. I went back to sleep until about 8.
Since I had all the time in the world (yeah, right) I did all of my exercises including the NT and HR.
26 ozzies grapefruit juice
28 ozzies OJ/strawberry smoothie (a little over a cup of strawberries and the rest OJ)
10 ozzies OJ
Almost a quart and a half of banana/blueberry/romaine smoothie. I had to quit putting romaine in because it was threatening to overflow the blender.
4 Campari tomatoes
Half a large cantaloupe (I was going to eat a small watermelon but the juice was stringy. I pitched it.)
A little salsa from yesterday but it hadn’t “held over” well so it got pitched, too.
4 tomatoes with Tajin
Fred’s Mom’s Salad
I drank my breakfast smoothie and OJ while I sat on the front steps in the sun. When I got through, I put on a camisole that goes with my Christmas PJs and my biking shorts and went out for 30 minutes. I would love to get this but I can’t see spending that much when there are other things my money should go for. Like the house payment, gas for the car (I need to get the oil changed, too), and the list goes on and on.
I came in and got a wash together and had a heart-stopping moment in the process. I’d put the clothes in, the soap, vinegar, and started the water. It started doing its thing and continued for quite some time, then quit. I’d been thinking that, even though the dryer is on the blink (another “need to get fixed”) the washer works. I had a sinking feeling and went to check. Problem was, I’d failed to close the lid. That done, it started back up again. Whew!
Along about 1:40, my daughter called. I got my lunch smoothie made and called her back. Then she called me back so I wouldn’t be using my minutes. We visited for more than an hour and a quarter. I hung out the first load of clothes while we talked. They’ve found out about an apartment that’s available. It has a private back yard which would be tempting but it’s $500 a month more than what they are paying. That’s not the only thing that makes it attractive. It has a bath and a half vs. one bath. But, in addition to the increase in rent, it’s 8-10 blocks farther away from the subway which, she said, would be bad in cold weather. They love to garden so a back yard would be wonderful but maybe not worth $500 monthly. Plus, they haven’t seen it and it may be something they wouldn’t want, anyway.
The neighbors were out on their back steps while I was hanging the clothes. He suggested it was a better day for being on the lake. I had laundry to do. I couldn’t go to the lake. No time. No boat, anyway.
I had several Chinese eggplant that weren’t getting any younger. I peeled them, sliced them up, and marinated them in a mix of a combination (sort of) of the two bacon recipes on the forum. If it turns out okay, I’ll post it in Feasts.
My arms are broken out a little and itchy. I don’t know what I’ve gotten into unless it’s where I sunned today.
I need to take a quick shower. I’d forgotten to make up the bed earlier but it’s done now and inviting me to pile in.
