The change in Raw Food Lifestyle has caused a stir.

Some people are overjoyed and some feel overwhelmed. There are people who wouldn’t participate on the other forum because they felt like it was a jumble and they didn’t know where to go or what to do. There are people who are intimidated by the new format and don’t know where to go or what to do. Well, here it is, folks. I wanted the current format to begin with but I didn’t have time to put it up. The other forum is “quick and dirty” but it’s also a lot more work in the long run. None of us is too old to learn a new way of being a member of a forum of this type and it’s lots more fun. There are options available that the other forum could never have. If you don’t believe me, register and be active!

I got up this morning fully intending to do what I was supposed to do and measure but I was also short on time. I had plans to go to the Asian market, the organic grocery, and all the places I usually do coming back. I did do all of my exercise routine.

Breakfast was OJ, about 20 ozzies. I also had a four or five banana smoothie (I don’t remember) with romaine.

When it was about 11 o’clock, I decided I would take inventory and see exactly what I have in the way of food. Turns out it was more than I thought so I decided I would scuttle the trip to the faraway places and just go to Wally World. I took a bath to celebrate. When I got out, I got me a young coconut and settled down to relax a little.

My daughter called just as I was finishing the coconut and we talked for barely over an hour. She has finally gotten the promotion she was promised which was good news. I got the laundry out of the washer while we talked and tried to hang some of it but I had to give it up until we decided we’d said it all.

It’s been raining and nasty all day. While I was out doing my scoping out of the provender, I snagged some persimmons. I had three while I watched something I’d recorded.

I’ve been working on the forum off and on all day. My SIL did some modifications I didn’t know how to do or thought I didn’t have time to tackle. He’s handy as can be! I think I can handle everything from here on out–at least for the time being. I’m sure he’ll be relieved not to get SOS screams from me.

Along about 3 o’clock this afternoon, I thought, “There isn’t a thing that I have to go get today that I can’t do without until later in the week.” So the trip to Wally World was canceled. I felt like a bird out of a cage.

I washed lots of greens and had a five banana/one black sapote/lots of romaine smoothie. Then I had a couple of tomatoes with a sprinkle of sea salt (there goes the weight back up). I made a large salad of romaine, red leaf, cucumber, tomato, and red onion with cashew mayo. I watched a program on The Learning Channel about obesity while I ate. I tend to disagree that it’s largely (pardon the pun) genetics that causes obesity. I think it can be laid right at the door of the companies that make prepared food that contains so many empty calories it causes people to overeat. They are starving even though they are eating huge amounts. If they ate the same amount of fruit and veggies, they would lose because they would be getting true nutrition. But the junk food is addictive and fruit and veggies aren’t (unless you are a raw foodist like me. 🙂 )

Get off the soapbox, Tommie!

After my salad, I had a cup of garlic lemonade. I still have an occasional cough.

I took some pictures of me to make a new avatar for the forum. I don’t know whether I like it better or not. I’ll leave it for now.

Twinkle had her last nuggets this morning from the previous order of raw food. I got out some snack bags and a large double thickness bag to put everything in. I opened a bag of beef medallions and put two in each snack baggie. After I’d put a couple in her bowl, the medallions and snack baggies came out exactly even! It doesn’t take much to amaze me.

I’m going to have to hang this up and get to bed. Nighty night!

My question was answered in this post. You do! All my pets ( 2 dogs and 4 ferrets
are raw fed. I’ve seen remarkable improvements in their overall well-being!

I agree with you about obesity being genetic. I think in making that blanket statement it releases the burden off of themselves. There are some that may feel that it’s something they have no control of so why make an effort?
