When I woke this morning, I thought I might as well get up.

I was under the impression that it was very early. I was going to get lots done before I went to work. I rolled over and looked at the clock. My eyes about popped out of their sockets. And I did get up! It was 6:43 am! I was thinking it was at least an hour and a half earlier than that. Needless to say, there was no exercising except for the running around to get ready.

Breakfast was OJ and a four banana/Newman’s Own Baby Spinach smoothie (thanks, Chris!). I also had some grapes. They were pretty decent.

The temperature was 9 degrees when I got up. It didn’t get a whole lot warmer than that later on. Well, maybe it got into the mid-30s where I was but that didn’t encourage me to walk. The wuss in me, for sure.

My snack was three Clementines. Lunch was a four banana/pear/romaine smoothie. I held out some of the romaine to eat. I like the hearts just to crunch on. I had a persimmon. Someone asked what it was and one of the Lunch Bunch answered for me. They are getting educated!

On up in the afternoon, I got hungry so I had an orange.

I’d talked to my manager today and she said she’d call me back. She did–right when I was supposed to be leaving work. She had momentous news. She is being promoted and will be in charge of getting both Patient Access and Patient Financial Services up to snuff, technology-wise. That’s desperately needed. When the hospital system took over our little facility several years ago, I’d thought we’d be moving up in the world but we took a giant step back. The computer system we had was ‘way ahead of theirs. Plus we are always left until last when upgrades come along. I’ll miss her in her current capacity but it will be better, overall.

Someone has copied and pasted a portion of my raw foodist page and got it started around via e-mail. It’s flattering that it warrants that but they could have, at least, included a link to my blog. I don’t mind people stealing my stuff as long as they give credit where credit is due.

I barely made it to the grocery store for my weekend supply of bananas. I came on home and called my son to see how his appointment went today. He’s able to see out of the surgeried eye but it’s blurry. He’s making it a point to behave himself. There’s the beginnings of a cataract in that eye, too. Eventually, that will involve a lens implant. He had to get off our call so he could go eat supper.

I killed a coconut and then I peeled an organic Yukon Gold and ate it.

A little later, he called me back on Skype. He was trying to call my sister in Washington but we got her answering machine. He called my daughter’s number and we had a nice visit with my SIL before he put her on the phone. They were having some friends over so we didn’t talk long.

I’ve downloaded Skype. It took a long time. Long enough for me to make some salsa with avocado and no cucumber (I failed to get any yesterday and the ones I had were bad) and get it too hot, eat it, have a bite or two of kim chi, eat a few grapes, and make some cranberry relish for tomorrow. I put some grated orange zest in it this time and it “kicked it up a notch”.

There’s no way for me to get in touch with my son on Skype. I’ve tried several usernames but none of them is the right one. I e-mailed him and asked what it is but I have yet to hear. For now, I think I’ll hang it up (literally) and go to bed. Happy Sabbath!
