One of these days, I’m going to surprise everyone, me most of all, and get to bed early! When that happens, I’ll have to write it down and remember it as an example of what I should be doing all the time. I know that the conventional wisdom says that raw foodists don’t need as much sleep but I think I would be purtier if I was in bed more and at the computer less.

My exercise time was cut short this morning and I didn’t attempt any vision therapy. I’d missed too much exercising already and I didn’t want to make it another day. All I had time for was BodyFlex but I, at least, did that much.

Breakfast was a banana/apple/spinach smoothie. That’s the last of my spinach. I have some ordered from the co-op but it won’t be in until Monday.

I did a couple of laps fairly early. It was beginning to get hot but not too bad.

I would have given my eye teeth for some tomatoes this morning for my snack but there were none to be had.

Lunch was a fruit salad of bananas, pears, and a mango. I had to eat it too fast because I had an appointment to get my hair cut. On my way to the shop, I saw that the produce people were set up across the street so I decided I would get some tomatoes when I was finished.

The owner/operator drove up just as I did and we went in together. She looked at me and said, “You’ve lost a lot of weight since the last time I saw you.” She asked me how much and I told her. Then she said, “What have you done?” I said that she would probably think I was crazy but I’d been eating raw food for over a year. We talked about that until someone else came in. At that point, I concentrated on how good it felt to get my hair cut and didn’t participate in the conversation.

Speaking of the haircut, it’s one of the best cuts I’ve ever gotten. She was recommended by the girl I share an office with as well as one of my best friends. And I can see why they like to go to her. She gives the cut a lot of attention and it shows. I doubt that I will have to cut any stray hairs anywhere.

A couple more people came in, one being the other operator, and she told her that I only eat raw food. I gave her my card. I don’t know if she is a computer person or not but maybe she’ll be able to look this and my forum up. Oh, the other customer said that she’d been looking at hairdos in magazines and not seen anything she liked until she saw mine. She asked for her hair to be cut the same way. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

In the course of things, I had to make a confession. She asked if I put color on my hair. I said that I’ve used Summer Blond and she said it was pretty. I told her that it was long gone and then told her about the peroxide. So now my hairdresser knows for sure…

When I got out, I looked down the street and the produce people had folded their tent and silently stolen away. Oh, well!

Everyone at work liked my hair, too. I think I’ll spike it a little in the morning. It’s a little conservative for me. Other than that, though, I can’t fault it.

I stopped on the way home and got some bananas, a red onion, and some cilantro. Now, two months ago, I wouldn’t have given you a nickel for all the cilantro in North America but I have taken a real liking to it. I just wish it lasted longer. I’ve tried putting it in water and all sorts of things I’ve read about on the forums but nothing seems to help. I’ll have to plant some one of these days.

Supper was supposed to be Corn Fiesta Soup and Special Mango Salsa. I didn’t have all the ingredients for the first and the second is kind of spicy for me–remember? So…I made some gumbo and Fred’s Mom’s Salad. I had the salad first and by the time I ate all of it, I had hardly any room left for the gumbo. I put most of it in the fridge (odd to have leftovers) and ate the rest.

One of the girls at work wants me to get her a case of young coconut. I called the Asian market and the man told me he would try to order some more that I could pick up Monday. I don’t know how I’m going to keep it cold but we’ll see.

I spent some time de-cluttering this evening so some places look better. There’s still plenty to do. I need to clean out the fridge and make way for the order from the co-op. If I do a little every day, it should be done by Monday.

It’s well past time to go to bed. It was midnight last night and, if I’m not careful, it will be again tonight. Good night!
