I am sitting here having to prop my eyelids open with toothpicks. I’m going to make this short and go to bed.
I got up late this morning but that’s okay. Today was vision therapy day and that takes considerably less time than exercising.
Breakfast was OJ, half a huge Packham pear, some cantaloupe, and a banana/romaine smoothie.
My mid-morning snack was a kiwi and the other half of the pear.
I didn’t get a chance to go out in the sun at all today. Too busy. Not enough staff.
Lunch was a banana/spinach smoothie, cucumber, and “chili”.
When I was walking through the nursing home today, the ADON said, “You are down to almost nothing!” Not quite but nice to hear.
On my way home, I stopped and got spinach at the supermarket. Then I hit two different roadside stands and bought a box of tomatoes at each. I had the feeling (and I was right) that the tomatoes I’d arranged for a couple of days ago wouldn’t be completely ripe. The other box I got is. I should be able to make these last for awhile. I also got some peaches that smell wonderful.
Supper was a huge bowl of watermelon, tomatoes with Tajin, one of the eggplant pizzas (I was right again–it was better without the “cheese”), and a large salad with cashew dressing.
I’d planned to have a peach or two (they’re small) but I forgot until it was too late. And now it’s too late for anything except to get to bed.
Congratulations! You are an inspiration. Everything you had sounds delicious!
Thanks! Yes it was and is and will be. I love my raw food! A friend e-mailed me that she wants to go raw but she has some strong taste-buds. I do, too, but I’ve re-educated mine. It can be done!
My diet has been high raw for the past few months (occasionally one lightly steamed meal per day) it seems my body is shutting down and I cannot eat even steamed foods so I think it’s time to make another step. I have taken baby steps. I never worried about only eating raw foods. I do love my herbal teas.
Can you recommend a few places online that sells organic fruit. I’m covered with the vegetables since I garden I use DoortoDoorOrganics but would like to check other online options.
Could you post the eggplant pizza recipe?
It’s whatever works for each person. I did giant steps, myself. I haven’t had any kind of drink other than OJ and limeade with agave nectar since I’ve been eating raw.
Actually, I don’t order a lot of organic fruit online. I’ve ordered oranges from http://www.flnaturalcitrus.com/. There are farmers and orchardists who aren’t certified organic because of the expense, like The Date People. Their phone numbers are 760-359-3211,
760-359-3212 fax. http://www.cherimoya.com advertises in Living Nutrition magazine. They don’t say whether they are organic or not. I buy a lot of organic fruit from the co-op I belong to. You can google organic fruit and see what you can find. If you order from some other growers, you can share your experiences.
The eggplant pizza isn’t really a recipe. It’s just something I threw together. I sliced an organic eggplant into 1/2″ slices and salted them down. I forgot them and they drained all night. The next morning, I rinsed them and put them in the dehydrator. Next day, I chopped tomato, orange sweet pepper, and onion plus a little EVOO, Italian seasoning, and some sea salt. I put that on top of three of the slices on a plate and wrapped the whole thing with plastic wrap. That went back into the dehydrator until I got home from work. I ate the last slice last night. I think I’ll make up some of the topping to eat by itself. The eggplant is okay but it’s tough.
