The clock says I’m already late getting to bed but my internal clock says it’s still just after 9 p.m. Drat Daylight Saving Time!

I woke this morning when my son was getting ready to go to work. After we had a nice visit and he left, I lay back down and went to sleep. I had one of the weirdest dreams I’ve ever had. I’d repeat it but it would take too long.

For the first time I can remember, I slept longer than my DIL and granddaughter. They were up and around by the time I opened my eyes.

Breakfast was OJ and a banana/romaine smoothie. I offered some of my smoothie to both of them but neither one would take me up on it. More for me!

I stopped at a couple of places for food on the way home. The store at the university shopping center had quite a bit of organic produce today and the prices were pretty good. I even got a small watermelon. I’ll cut it tomorrow and see if it’s any good.

This week is Patient Access Week so I went to the Dollar Tree and got the things to give the staff. I need to go over the sales slip because I don’t think the total is right. I do hope it is because I don’t want to have to get it corrected either way.

When I got home and unloaded, I had another banana/romaine smoothie. I put it in a quart jar and it didn’t quite all fit. I’d run across my old bathing suit the other day so I pulled it on, got my trusty camp chair and went outside in the sun to drink my “lunch”. It was getting a little late to sun so I only put in 15 minutes before I got too cool.

After the smoothie, I had four Campari tomatoes. Then I had a couple of large tomatoes in a bowl with Tajin fruit seasoning on them. My salad was next with romaine, Boston lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green onion, avocado, Celtic sea salt, lime juice, and EVOO.

It will be interesting to see if I adjust to the time change better this year than usual. I e-mailed my senators and representative today and weighed in with my take on the whole Daylight Saving Time mess.

Good night!

Love the blog!! Congratulations on 40 weeks!

One thing. You mentioned eating tomatoes with chili powder. Do you sprinkle that on tomato slices?? Also, what’s your method for making burgers?

    Thanks and thanks!

I chunk the tomatoes up in a bowl and sprinkle them. Stir them up and sprinkle again if necessary. The burger recipe is here>> http://greenchefs.tv/alissa-cohen/Carrot-Pecan-Burger. I don’t season them the same way. I use sea salt, sage, and onion. I think some celery would be good, too. Another thing I do is add some soaked sunflower seed right at the last for some “crunch”. Be careful with the seasoning! It concentrates as it dehydrates. If you taste as you go, leave it just a tad bland. Good luck!
