I ate some cashew “cheese” with celery and I think it’s using up my energy digesting it. I’m going to bed and I’ll blog tomorrow.
Good night!

Tommie passed away in November 2016, but we are keeping this blog online as a virtual legacy. Here is how she described herself: My name is Tommie, and I have been vegetarian my whole life. For several years I was 100% raw, but now consider myself vegan with lots of raw food. This website chronicles my journey, gives advice on how to live a raw food lifestyle, and shares recipes, both raw and simple cooked.
I’m not sure you’ve ever posted your recipe for cashew cheese. Can you direct me to it if you have. Also, how much of it (and some of these other high fat recipes) do you eat? Seems to me you keep your percentages close to what they’re supposed to be. I seem to have to alternate days with fatty foods, so I can keep my average fat % under 10-15%.
I know it’s on my forum at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rawfoodlifestyle but I don’t know where it would be on here. One of my future projects is making a page with all the recipes I mention–but not tonight! If you go to my forum, it’s in the files.
Since I don’t log my food on fitday any more, I can’t give you exact percentages. However, I did it long enough that I have a pretty good idea where it falls and the average, over time, it’s within the 80-10-10 limits. If I eat avocado one day, I won’t eat nuts the same day (though I did have some coconut the same day today). There are days that I don’t eat any overt fat at all. I have gone for long periods of time with no overt fat. When the weather starts getting cooler, it seems to put me in the mood to have more, though. Strange, huh?
I haven’t eaten any cashew cheese for months. I kind of lost my taste for it. My tastebuds are still changing. The only things I make that are recipes and fatty are Matt’s dip (I only make enough for one meal so I won’t “pig out”) and once in awhile, broccoli/cauliflower “slaw”. I share it so I won’t eat too much.
