I did 30 deep knee bends this morning

I did 30 deep knee bends this morning without stopping and six pushups. I didn’t have time to BodyFlex but, it seems, I manage to miss one day a week. I kept up the 10 deep knee bends whenever I’d go to the bathroom. My thighs are a little sore but not bad. I probably should push myself more.

Breakfast was a plum, a peach (actually sweet–I didn’t have to help it out), and a banana, pear, and blueberry smoothie. Lunch was the rest of the gazpacho with another tomato chopped up in it, corn on the cob that Nancy’s husband brought me, Sweet Potato Crisps, and whatever Mock Salmon Pate other people didn’t eat. I’d started out with maybe a little over a tablespoon and shared it and the Crisps. People can’t believe that the crisps are raw. They aren’t exactly fresh but I guess dehydrated is better than baked though there are some who would disagree.

Supper was the rest of the watermelon and a banana & pear smoothie. I had planned to go to Wal*Mart but I didn’t make it. The car wanted to turn when it got to my road so I let it.

I got an e-mail that Alissa Cohen is going to be on the Today Show next week. I wish they were going to have someone who has a more balanced approach to the raw food lifestyle but they didn’t ask me. Her recipes rely heavily on nuts, seeds, and oils which make them rather high in fat. A lot of them are dehydrated which destroys some of the food value. She has published seven of her recipes on her site and if you take a look, you’ll see what I mean. I’m sure that her book has some simpler, more nutritious combinations but they aren’t evident there. She doesn’t have the number of servings or nutrition information. It would be interesting to go to NutritionData and put in a recipe and see how it comes out with the fat-carb-protein ratio. I wouldn’t take the time to do it unless I planned to make the dish, but I believe it would be an eye-opener.

I went over by about 100 calories today. The good news is that the total was something like 12% fat but bad news is it was only 6% protein.

Better get to bed! I need my beauty sleep.
