I woke, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed

I woke, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, this morning before 5. My mind said this was a day to be able to stay in bed a little longer but my body said to get up so I did.

Since I had all the time in the world, I did my BodyFlex and took a turn on the Nordic Track and the Healthrider. The Healthrider’s batteries are dead so I set a timer to let me know when I could get off. I’ll have to remember to get some the next time I’m close to Dollar General.

I just kind of putt-putted around and it was nice not to be hurrying. It was a good thing, too, that I didn’t have to because I made my smoothie with bananas, apple, papaya (it wasn’t ripe but it had a spot on it that looked suspect so I killed it), and blueberries. The apple thickened it to the point that I finally had to eat it with a spoon. I had 1/3 avocado and a Clementine and got ready to go.

When I got ready for church, I put on a long black dress with a red blazer that I hadn’t worn for a couple of months. The last time I had the blazer on, I couldn’t get it to touch in the front without pulling on it but, today, I could button it with no problem! It won’t be long before it’s too big if I keep going at this rate.

After church was over, I was talking to a woman I’ve known practically all her life and she said that she is having a terrible problem with high blood pressure. Her doctor has told her that she needs to lose 100 pounds and she said, “Thanks a LOT, doc.” I didn’t feel like it was the right time to bring anything up so I didn’t.

My friend from last week came over to update me. She had a big smile which was a contrast to the down and discouraged mood she was in before. She had been to the doctor and she’d lost three pounds! She isn’t 100% raw. She thinks it’s more like 95% but she’s thrilled, and I’m thrilled for her. I’m sending her some links that have recipes that will give her some more variety.

I was invited to stay for lunch but I wasn’t prepared to so I came on home. I threw together a big salad and even went for broke and put some cold-pressed olive oil on it along with my lime juice. I ate some of the pate from yesterday and I believe the salt “grew”. I’ll have to be careful with that next time.

This week has taken its toll and I’m not perky this afternoon. I think I’ll go participate in lay activities.
