Honestly, I don’t set out to be a troublemaker but it seems I’m very good at it. This post actually starts last Monday when I received another coupon for a free Earthbound Farm product. I’d gotten a newsletter from them with a link to get a coupon for 55 cents off but it didn’t work with Windows 7. The next newsletter asked for feedback so I fed back that I would like to see coupons that will actually print. I got a nice email saying if I would send back my full name and email address the company would send me a coupon. I expected to get a 55 cent coupon since that’s what was on the site but, no! Rolling down the highway, the shuttle took us farther and farther from DD and closer to San Francisco. I was resigned to my fate of not being able to take pictures any time soon. I still don’t feel wonderful but I have to go Buy Food. If it weren’t for that, I’d stay in today and hibernate like the bears. My sister says they have the right idea. Three of my sisters have had all the snow they ever want to see. The two in North Carolina aren’t as “blessed” as the one in Colorado, though. She’s had feet of it while the rest of us have had inches. Some of the drifts are higher than her head.... Read more

The road down the mountain was beginning to be familiar. I wasn’t as timid driving as I was originally but my sister would swear I’d never been timid. She dubbed me “Old Leadfoot”. I didn’t believe I deserved the title but it has stood all these years. Ask her today and she would tell you that I am, in fact, “Old Leadfoot”. Not fair, not accurate but I’m stuck with it.... As I planned, last night I crawled between the itchy sheets without unplugging the heater and, sure enough, I felt the little prickles on my skin. I pulled the plug and voilà! no more prickles. This morning, I got one of the packages a sheet had come in and Googled the company. I have emailed the info address on the web site and let them know what was going on. Now to hide and watch and see if I get a response. I’m not sure I want to sleep between sheets if they have something in them that reacts that way.... Read more

Today started out with snow falling but it proved not cold enough for it to do anything but get slushy. It was pretty falling but it was “double ugly” on the ground. I got ready and went to town about 10:45 and got home a couple of hours later. I took a side trip and went by Mother’s grave. There was a big pile of junk off to one side about 20 feet away. I don’t know if maybe it was a new grave and the greenery had turned brown or what. Her picture is still where it is supposed to be and the arrangement, though not beautiful, is whole.... Read more
